You Have The Wrong Buffnet

For those emailing me about their buffnet.net email addresses. You have the wrong Buffnet. Buffnet.net is not my domain. I do know that the buffnet.net isp shutdown but I am in no way affiliated with them. I only know this because I have been getting emails for weeks now. This Buffnet is not an isp, but a web-hosting company. Please stop asking me if I can get your email, I cannot. Thank you.

Hardware Firmware Updates

We will be updating firmware on some networking equipment this weekend at one of our sites. Expect possible downtime.

Websites Downtime

Some of the Buffnet domains will see downtime today.  The downtime will likely last into Friday night and will affect nitevilla.net and all the buffington.me domains.  We are performing network upgrades that will result in faster webserving speeds.

Buffington.me Domain

After trying several times to acquire a buffington domain, I finally managed to get the coolest one to date, Buffington.me.  Rather than sit on the domain and do nothing with it like all the owners of the other Buffington domains, I am going to immediately use it to serve those with the name Buffington.  For starters I am offering anyone who would like a vanity email address the option of having a “yourname@buffington.me” email address.  I am using the Gmail for your domain tool, meaning you will have both POP and a web based interface option.

Also, I am lucky enough to sport Scott.Buffington.me as my official index.  I am also thinking of starting a Buffington family forum to discuss all things Buffington.

All Sites Down

All hosted websites are down due to ice storms here in Central PA.  We hope to be back up in a few hours.

That Was Easy

Fully updated to the latest Apache and PHP releases with a few more bells and whistles in one evening.  Documentation is a beautiful thing, makes compiling new releases very easy.  Other than a cycling of the webserver, no downtime other than a few seconds was encountered.

Upgrades Coming

I am compiling and patching the latest updates for the BuffNet webpages.  You may notice some downtime over the next week or so.
